I had the Nokia N9 with MeeGo OS and loved that phone. I also had the N900, with Maemo and it was another groundbreaking device. Unfortunately, Nokia partnered with Microsoft and somehow MeeGo lost the battle to Windows Phone OS and Nokia's CEO Stephen Elop may have been an MS plant all along... MS acquired the Nokia Mobile Devices division (what else was there?!?) for $5.4B which was a pittance and effectively ended Nokia. Lumia/MS never went anywhere, so a total dumpster fire... The MeeGo and Maemo teams got spun out of MS and eventually became part of the Sailfish effort and the Jolla phone. Lots of history there! I actually bought a Sony Experian phone to install Sailfish on a few years ago and never got around to it. But Jolla just released a phone of there own that looks quite interesting for those of us interested in escaping from the Apple/Android prison!
